The Man of the Hour Miranda Silver

Book Review

I was so excited to read this one and step back into the boys next door world!! I"ll never get enough of Ian and Brendan. The Boys Next Door the first duet in the series is one of my favourite of all time reads, the relationship, spice and world is absolute chefs kiss. Soo hearing we were finally going to get the story of the other twin, I could not wait to find out what that entailed.

It's a mix of familiarity and recklessness the fire between Sonia and Brendan is explosive. There is just something about these two that has you grappling page after page, with unending amounts angst, spice and lust. It's an enemies to lovers, secret relationship with a brother's best friend kinda vibe but with a twist. Throw in a little role play, public indecency and grappling tension you've got the duo that is Sonia & Bren, as they struggle to find themselves and each other.

I loved how real and authentic the experiences of our heroine a struggling artist and hero burning the midnight oil trying to climb the political ladder were, as young adults grappling with their emotions while trying to find themselves in the world.

The storyline is meant to be a fast passed as it spans over a short period of time with years of angst and hatred fueling the love/hate dynamic between the two of them. I did find it a little too rushed at times and would have loved a little more of the bonding/banter type dynamic to build on their budding romance and make it feel a little more authentic, with it all quickly coming to a head and resolution towards the end.

The man of the hour is the third book in the series but could definitely be read as a standalone if you wanted. It follows Brendan (the twin brother) of Ian who is highlighted in the first two books. I loved the little highlights and characters coming in and out that nodded to the previous duet! It was so nice to step back into that world
